Antibacterial fabrics are woven from yarns that are specifically designed to develop antibacterial qualities.

These are often substances derived from silver ions that are anchored to the core of the yarns. This technique provides a permanent antibacterial effect, regardless of how many times the fabric is washed. The growth of possible bacteria can be reduced by 99%.

These fabrics can also be washed at 60°C to maximise the elimination of bacteria and viruses. In this case, we speak of thermal disinfection. The levels of shrinkage for such fabrics fall within the acceptable standards.
